Obama spoke common sense, and a rational approach (and yes he has been killing ISIL folks), but the Republican approach is, if you’ve seen any of their propaganda, IS the best recruiting tool and friend ISIL has.
Have we, the people, ever been so divided? (Since the 1860’s, at least) When the Japanese attacked us and booted us out of much of the Pacific, and Hitler, in another incredibly ill-advised move, declared war on us, our grandparents put aside most dissention, signed up and pitched in for a united effort to defeat the fascist armies and throw off the yoke of tyranny around much of the world. . But here, in the United States today, money, wealth and power are sought after by a small minority who control the government, the media and foment discontent, unemployment and a rigged political/economic system, that has brought out the fear and mis-trust in us so much, that we quibble about many issues which we do not fully understand, or want to understand, and of which we are mis-informed, led on, and simply lied to. Much of the danger the American citizen faces today is from within our own border. But the oligarchy plays us all like a fiddle, keeping us dancing around in circles and pointing fingers everywhere else, except at them. We could sure use the help of the independent press we once had.
On a somewhat lighter note, sales of Depends have skyrocketed in recent weeks. Experts attribute the increased sales to an increase in right-wing pants wetting.
@the GhostPony-Biggest laugh I’ve had so far today. Long ago FDR said “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself” Based on the Republican’ts of today he would be saying “Oh S*** We’re all going to die.”
