But if these are near-exact copies of King’s origiinal strips from the 40s, why not just (re)publish those, rather than re-draw? Doesn’t Jim S. have rights to the old stuff?
Yes, but when you cross the International Date Line, it gets’ an hour earlier in the day but it also becomes a day later. So the Philippines are actually 13 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time.
Skeezix is almost 95 years old, and hopefully he and Walt will never die. It is amazing how this strip has survived all these years and remains as delightful as ever.
Panel 3 is a redrawn copy of December 26, 1944, panel 3.And to answer eromlig’s question, Skeezix was born February 9, 1921, which makes him 94 years old. He celebrates his birthday on February 14, however, the day Walt found him on the doorstep.
