Gee - Why are there so few jobs, why can’t people who want to work can’t find work, why is the economy such a mess, I mean the GOP is doing everything they can to create more jobs and help the unemployed.

It’s not like it was the GOP that destroyed the economy, and I am sure they will fix things as soon as we let them back in.

FOOL ME ONCE - SHAME ON YOU - FOOL ME TWICE - SHAME ON ME.

The GOP is counting on the fact that we never learn.

Obama has had 17 months to make any changes to the economy, but he has failed. He has failed in creating an atmosphere to creat jobs. He has failed with his stimulus program. His medical bill is a monstrosity that will bankrupt the nation. He has no clue on what to do with the oil spill and it’s cleanup. He has moved our country towards Socialism, a sure sign of national destruction. His foreign policy makes us look weak.

You’re actually confused, Democrats forget Jimmy Carter and the mess he created. Clinton was well on his way to be another bad president, but decided to go with the GOP congress and ended his term with a good record. Actually a good record except for his “Fair Housing Act”, which put us into the total financial meldown some eight years later.

    Yes! Democrats never learn.

RR, You can twist the facts to suit your agenda all you want; the reality principle will always assert itself in the face of right-wing fantasies.

Bush inherited a $400 surplus from Clinton and turned it into a trillion dollar deficit. The deregulation that led to the economic collapse of 2008 (when BUSH was President) was started under Reagan, shamefully accepted by Clinton and accelerated under Bush.

I have my disagreements with Obama, but considering the mess he inherited and the fact that Republicans in Congress have opposed just about everything on his agenda, I give him credit for trying to make the country better. You stick with the Republican agenda. China, India, Brazil - having to deal with the consequences of America’s default on its outstanding debt aside, I’m sure they’ll be happy not to have the international competition.

Nice one rr. You claim America is becoming socialist while decrying Obama for not being an autocrat. Presidents do not write legislation, they sign or veto it.

The failure to extend long-term unemployment benefits shows there is a bipartisan agreement on high unemployment. High unemployment means all our wages will continue to fall.

Democrats (NAFTA) are just as bad as Republicans. Welcome to ‘globalization.’

No remorse on that one. There comes a time when the unemployed worker needs to go find a job, even if that means moving to a new state.

The current process allows for up to 99 weeks of extended benefits in extreme cases. And in my state you also get assistance for certifications, college and vocational training. That is insane, especially when I am working during World Cup. No thanks.

You say Obama has had 17 months to fix the economy, yet you blame the housing mess on a bill that Bush had 8 years to fix.

“Actually a good record except for his “Fair Housing Act””

Yes, because moving our country closer to a Theocracy (e.g. Iran) was such a good thing. DADT & DOMA are a blight on that “good record” by empowering the government to conduct religious discrimination. Bush missed his chance to set himself up as an Ayatollah, with the exception of claiming he was appointed by God.

“You say Obama has had 17 months to fix the economy, yet you blame the housing mess on a bill that Bush had 8 years to fix.”

I noticed that. Same with Immigration, same with Medicare (passing a subsidy to pharma didn’t fix our medical problems), same with Education, same with our dwindling middle class. Wow, I’m certainly glad that less than 2 years time is so much better than 8.

The Republican Senators are helping by denying the extension of unemployment benefits. Fewer people will be collecting thus the unemployment rate goes down. The strategy was used during the Presidents Reagan and Bush years. The unemployment rate will probably go down by at least 2% immediately.

The war in Iraq is similar to the cost of WW2 and the post war Marshall plan, all rolled into one. It isn’t easy, but necessary at this point in history.

The ‘Carret’ is what you never had before you came to Earth……to be significant without the attached abuse from your parents.

However, apparently the apple does not fall far from the tree.
