The butcher could have been minding his- or her- own business and she added a sentence about a third person right when they walked in, or she didn’t remember that she’s talking about a favorite niece or aunt or uncle on the mother’s side, or godchild, or whatever else is easily forgotten
I’ve a co-worker like that. Wish I had a more definitive way to stop them. They’ve taken what was a very friendly, cooperative and peaceable work place and turned it into what amounts to an armed camp.
