THAT may be why Fred climbed the stairway. His nose is too close to the floor of the old barn!

Long dogs really don’t do spiral staircases well - my dachshund refuses to try to ascend them when we visit castles. Sensible chap - Fred may have got up but getting down will be even worse for him.

Okay lad, now try climbing down.

    Maybe butt first works better.

the stairs are crazy. the handrail starts on one side and ends on the other.. much like the drawings of the artist, name forgotten, who draws water going up and dpown in a continuous look, or stairs that do the same thing. also note the stairs start by facing out toward the reader and quickly go the other way. and there is only one handrail. any dog would be exhausted just trying to figure it all out

Fred, you should not go up that curving stairs. Try to go on the top and turn around and then, climb down to the floor. So you will be relief!

Aaron, as I mentioned above on the comment box. Fred will go on the top and turn around and then, climb down to the floor.

I love Esher. It’s the only time I let someone play mind games with me.

Be careful Fred. You wouldn’t want to hurt yourself.

Is Jim’s last name Qwilleran? The converted barn is right out of “The Cat Who….” series by Lillian Jackson Braun.
