hmm. I thought it was more of a commentary on how difficult it is to think when you are a parent and have children demanding your every attention.
Today I was at a graduation party and I actually whapped my youngest on the head (gently!) with an empty paper plate because he kept up with the “mommy, mommy, mommy” longer than I could bear. It’s not something I would normally do, but I couldn’t think straight with him and his brothers pulling on me whilst I tried to have an intelligent conversation with an adult!
That’s pretty much what I first thought as well, habamom, but coming from Wally to Andy (on Father’s Day, no less), the warning against becoming an accidental babydaddy makes more sense..
“Every child a wanted child. Every father a willing father.”
Thats the best fathers day present so many kids have a kid themselves not knowing how to be a father or what it means now he will wait for fatherhood and truly enjoy it!
That’s exactly it, Rina. He’s trying to show Andy that you want to THINK before you have kids, otherwise, they will be strapped to you, your personal responsibility.
The joke would have been more explicit if Wally were also handing Andy a box of Trojans in the last panel, but that probably would have been too explicit…

Every teenager should have to watch a toddler and a baby for an entire weekend. That would defiantly induce protection.

…and make for much happier Father’s Days, when it’s time to celebrate them.
Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers out there!

If it wasn’t for the comments, I wouldn’t have gotten it.
(The failure was my own, and in no way a reflection on Jan.)

Okay. That teenager-looking person is Andy: Wally’s nephew, Max’s stepcousin and Luci’s cousin.
I cannot wait for the complaining from two kids strapped to me.

Even reading the comments I don’t think I got it. Let me try - it’s about not becoming a father accidentally?
