    You are absolutely denying the role that individual initiative and drive have in their success. There absolutely are folks who have made their own success out of relatively nothing. Bill Gates and Paul Allen come to mind. They started Microsoft with an idea and not much else.

    The problem here is that no one will take any inventer seriosly if he doesn’t have a degree with extra letters. Many great inventions were designed by people who might have a high school diploma.

    The budding genius who grew up poor will never be taken seriously.
