Lio by Mark Tatulli
Lio In The Year 2101
Remembering Flowers
Holographic Blossoms & Blooms -- just like Grandma Used To Grow!
OPEN
Sale!
3-D PANSEYS! LIKE REAL!
Republicans, Democrats, etc. etc…. It’s all show biz and razzle-dazzle, to keep the marks entertained.
The outfits really running the show are way past countries and petty geographic boundaries, they operate over the whole planet (and more, as soon as they can figure out a way to take advantage of the Sol System.)
Globalization is one thing for ‘multinationals’, and quite another for the rest of us. Someday we’ll figure out that we’re only an hour from anywhere on our planet. And act accordingly.

Too sad….

A time when Lio doesn’t have to act, be, or do anything weird just for the sake of being weird (and probably for attention, too)? That’s crazy talk.

A little bit of “Wall-e” in this strip????

Old Lio is still cute. But I hope 2101 has more than just holographs of flowers!

They paved paradise but I don’t even see a big yellow taxi.
Joni Mitchell with Bob Dylan and Counting Crows doing slightly varied covers.

I think I also detect a little nod to Blade Runner here. Nothing I can point to specifically, it’s just the vibe that I’m getting,

I used to like fresh air, When it was there. And water, I enjoyed it. ‘Til we destroyed it. Each day the land’s diminished. I think I’m finished.

This is by far the smartest witty comic out there. Most characters only age when there flung into the future like today’s strip
markwalton almost 14 years ago
So sad! But hey, it’s ok if the comics make you think once in a while.

I’m glad to know male pattern baldness won’t take away Lio’s cowlick! (And he didn’t turn it into a comb over!!)

Sad, but lovely. Thanks for the potent message, Mark!
