I am so happy to find this artist. I began reading Murderville after enjoying the Genius and really disliked Murderville. I just started skimming it and at some point something caught my attention and I had to go back to the beginning to start again.
What brilliant writing and artwork. Thank you, Carol Lay for this note today. Knowing some of what goes on in your head makes it all the better. Your Admirer, Carol
This may sound fatuous, Ms. Lay, but anything you do will be awesome. I consider myself a cartoon and animation aficionado and I have rarely found a comic that I look forward to as much as yours, no matter what style you choose or the tools you use to do it. Create on!
Another Update: That excellent new toy for drawing digitally is away for repair already. In the text above i made it sound like the story is done, but I’ve only finished 30 out of 50 pages, and i can’t draw it to style without the tablet. Hopefully, it will come back to me in a few weeks in good shape.
SKJAM!: I’ll run “A Farewell to Armories” (the Murderville issue I did with Kickstarter) sometime this year when i need some elbow room. I was eager to post “Knit One” (the cover goes up tomorrow) because it’s my favorite thing so far and is the first thing written specifically for this GoComics format. If you’d like, email me through carollay.com and i can sell you a copy of “Armories.” I hope to turn it into an ebook after it runs here, as well.
All: Thank you so much for your kind words. You really made my morning!
