She could write in her diary AND call her friends. (I’ve written, on & off, since I was about 11. I still have my little locking diaries from 1975-1982, a couple of separate journals, and my current one is in my computer.)
Such weakness. A strong person has no need for friends. Just needs to get along well enough with the lesser people to iron out the rough spots so that life flows easily. And key to that is to not let the peons be aware that you know they are peons.
