A memory: I was 17 when I met my husband. One time I offered to make him dinner. It was a frozen one, Chicken Au Gratin…one of my favorites. Mind you, I didn’t lie & say it was home-made. I did set the table nicely & got dressed up. He enjoyed it. (We both lament that we can’t find that particular frozen dinner any more & I can’t find a recipe.)
Surprising that she took such initiative and went to all that work. But then, nobody is totally defined by their adolescent years, are they. Some of the flakiest kids I knew in middle school and high school turned out to be amazing adults.

I am surprised that she didn’t just call for a pick-up gourmet dinner, while messing up the kitchen to appear as though she did all of the cooking.

Jeri actually cooks? Suspension of disbelief.

In that little black dress Jeri is “cookin’” all right…maybe not preparing food, but she is “cookin”.

Never trust a cook that doesn’t eat their own cooking.
