if you can trust such reports, I don’t recall any talking about blobs or outré appearances. So of course if the “logic” of such matters the ghost will supposedly look like you did in life—wearing the clothes you last had on.
The film, “The Frighteners” used what reports there are and the ones who “come back” from the dead. The bright column of light, seeing dead loved ones, faintly glowing jelly-like images and so on. Makes for fun movie going and frightening reality to those who see, hear and feel such things.
Ever wonder why no one sees images of things dead for thousands even millions of years? Maybe there is a time limit for the ectoplasm they are made of.
A preacher I knew once said when he has some thinking to do he walks through the graveyard at the church (some old churches have this). Why worry, everything there is just dead bodies.
