Yes, Obama’s a lefty, the general is apparently a civil war amputee, and Gates just got off the phone and didn’t turn it back around. I hate the concept of drone aircraft in combat, especially “close support”, primarily because of “collateral damage”, but they do seem to be scoring better now that “real time” on the ground feedback is being provided.
It’s really is scary how many nations around the world are developing these unmanned combat “systems”– “Terminator” mentality, if not total technology is here, now, and real cause for concern about humanity, religion, cultures, and whether $$ isn’t indeed the root-trunk-and fruit of pure evil.
Money is just a tool; there is no root of all evil mostly because no action is inherently evil. Moreover, good is just our biological tendency as social animals to help the species survive. You are a person, so is some bleeep on the street. Why is helping yourself not as good as helping him? You are both people; he isn’t any better than you.
I’m not one to be offended, but we have plenty of amputees out of these two wars without having to pull them from the US Civil War.

Yes, Obama is a “lefty”, but not as “lefty” as some would portray him nor as “lefty” as others would prefer. But then I probably have better things to do than search for subtle implications in places that are not known for subtlety.
