The whole point of change is to have something to complain about.

Calvin’s been complaining for 20 years now. Some things never change.

So . . . by your theory if I happily accept change I become immortal?

The entire Bill Buckley theory of Republicanism, standing athwart history, yelling “Stop!” vs. Change we can believe in.

Last winter was particularly cold and long. Once it started warming up I told my wife, "I hope it stays warm long enough for us to complain about it. It looks like I got my wish.

@Mokurai: Let’s avoid turning Calvin and Hobbes into a political argument…. for a change.

“You want change? You can’t handle the change!”

It’s the truth, and I’m sticking to it…

Sorry, but the way you wrote it “In Evolution the ones that can adapt to that change have the best chance to live on. if you are stubborn about it, consider that the extinction clause coming into play sooner or later.” it appears you are saying only those who adapt by changing will survive—all else die “sooner or later.” Evolution doctrine is a tricky little toy.

    Me too, Calvin.

I can’t stand change. Why change things when they are fine just the way they are?

It’s the human condition. As Sartre points out in the play, "Caligula, “Men die, and they are not happy.”"

I like change! I’d like to change back to the 1950s! Things were much simpler then…

Change is unavoidable. Ten seconds ago there wasn’t this comment, now there is. Three minutes ago there was a full bagel in front of me, now it’s inside me. That’s change. Without change, atomic motion would cease. Without change, there wouldn’t be life. And without change, I’d have a hard time with the coke machine (I know, they take bills now), which leads me to my final observation: Change is good, but Paper money is “gooder”.

@jgirdy24 Thank you, was wondering if someone was gonna catch that! The phrase “everything changes” is self-disproving.

This is an adult complaint, not a child’s. A kid would be unlikely to even think about this, as they live so much in the moment (most of the time).
