I wanted so very much, before I lost my touchTo write a poem today, I hoped there’d be much to sayAmazing tales of suspense, or if Mindy’s a tad too intenseDid junior really steal those cups, Or did Sandy ever sire some pupsWill Honeymoon file a complaintOr has the MCU’s reputation suffered taintWill Poppa continue to puff in the airCausing health problems to all who are nearInstead I’m driven to tryTo create a poem on the flyBecause Mike and Joe wrote such a fillerThat could’nt have been much more sillier.

Now, THAT’s funny! (I don’t care HOW many people suggested this, it’s STILL great!) And, as we all know, Mike & Joe do this VERY much in advance of when we read it!

This seems to fit with what I was thinking about the Sunday strip, that Johnny Adonis on the beach in Florida (instead of in the hospital in Chicago) is a major clue about the Blackhearts mystery. And I’m still convinced that was NOT the real Johnny.

This is cute. Blaze didn’t “get it” at first, but with BB-Eyes’ help she sees the humor in Written Mumbleze, too. A little comic relief breaks the tension. —But it also distracts from such questions as, what are we to make of the putative presence of Johnny Adonis in Florida when he was but lately in the hospital in Tracytown?

About the Eiji Tsuburaya doodle …

My movies all end with the “Ultraman” character flying shot, then loop back around, but there’s a mini-game after that where you pan across the set as “Ultraman” is zapping the monsters.

I’d figured that shot would be included in the finished movie if you won all of the mini-games.

Off-topic, I know, but I’m curious if anyone else has had a different experience.

Well, thanks to Tarry Plaguer for clearing up the translation of Mumbles e-mail. I really couldn’t see Mumbles using urban slang, asNeil suggested, because of his background. (He first appeared as a musician playing calypso style tunes while ripping off his audience, and his second appearance was after an extended stay in Jamaica.)As funny as today’s strip is, it brings up an interesting question. Mumbles has always been depicted as a rather lazy, sleepy eyed character who just can’t seem to put in enough effort to form his words correctly. But, here we see him using extra effort to translate his thoughts into the mumbled sentences in writing. Why would he do that? It’s a whole new look at his personality.

I assumed that Mumbles stuttered and couldn’t help talking that way. The fact that he texts with the same mistakes makes it really funny. I love the joke though, truthfully, many people garble text messages. Its part of the language.

    Here Today . . . Gone Tomorrow . . . ?

Much Ado about Nothing ? A Little Activity again. No results ! ?

As the strip continues to play a comic strip variation of “Hop Scotch” - jumping to a NEW visual scenario each day, before clarifying what had fully transpired at the current one !With readers - to Prop Up a Stream of Question Marks for each location . . .Nearly a fresh one every day . . . ?

Mini Mysteries ? Visual Teasers left to hang out without any answers, The (intentional?) contradictions in the Adonis one is a masterpiece in that world of Puzzles . . .

How now, and where to next - Brown Cow ?

I don’t text very much at all, and when I do, I still spell everything out. I can’t help it. But, as Jelfring points out, most people text with a “shorthand” that is quite similar to Mumble’s speech, so there is a double joke here. Except, Mumbles runs words together also; I don’t think texters do that, do they?

Are there really some keyboards that are split up the middle like that? I’ve never seen one – mine is the standard QWERTY board that had it’s origins in the days of typewriters. But who knows, they are coming up with new things all the time. It would seem to make standard fingering difficult – there would be a longer reach with the first finger for those middle keys.

There are some split keyboards. I was impressed with Joe’s accurate letters on the keyboard, until I saw two r’s: one in its regular place and one at the bottom where b should be, unless I am not mistaken.
