When they were in elementary school, I often had to drag my poor boys along shopping for Father’s Day on the first Friday of vacation. (And they complained like it was the utter ruination of their entire summer social scene.) But I would never have forced a kid to stay in, cleaning his/her room on that day, no matter how much their own procrastinating and bargaining might have warranted it. In their time, all four kids complained that we were too strict, but I think we were too lenient. (And the older girls, of course, complained that the younger boys got away with murder by comparison.) Oh well, I hope it all averaged out to a happy medium, somehow.

That would be today. 100% chance of rain most of the day in a lot of Michigan.

So, no comment that Frazz uses ‘worst’ when comparing just two options?

Jane might be having words with him later – worse.

Man, You’ve been busy today. I am weighing in, not to be critical, but to just say that on some days you get blamed more for your reputation than for your actual comments. Last week must have been a record for positive comments.

I like and respect you, and appreciate, if not your point of view, at least your well thought out reasons why you feel the way you do. Sometimes I even appreciate your point of view as well.

Maybe we can agree that Malette, in using his talents away from the drawing table to aid Habitat for Humanity, is a good thing, commendable even? Ok, you’re right, we’ll leave it at “good”. Wish you well as well.

“it would be silly for me to express surprise that any positive comments I’ve made have been largely ignored.” Yes, it would, because it happens at least as often you make positive comments. Perhaps it’s because even your positive comments aren’t all that positive, since they are usually usually phrased along the lines of “Usually this strip stinks like Loudon Wainwright’s Skunk, but today’s was actually tolerable.” And when someone acknowledges you for it, you still act like it’s the first time it’s ever happened.
