This has not been a great week to be a threatening vulture.

For as flexible as they look apparently vultures are very inflexible.

Being a buzzard is turning out to be a real “turkey”!

Yup, vultures go for rotting carcasses over ice cream cones any day of the week, and twice on Sundays.

Time to switch to something that likes ice cream, and would hang out in a tree. How about a sea gull?

Yup, it’s in the by-laws even. Ice cream by itself is ok. Served in cones is another matter. Strangest thing.

Besides, Snoopy, licking off someone else’s ice cream cone is unsanitary (and we all know how sanitary vultures can be…….)

Unless someone drops an ice cream cone on the ground and it’s lying there melting.

The smell of rotting flesh is so bad that the gas companies mix it in with natural gas which otherwise would be odorless. It’s a difficult smell to ignore. A little bit goes a long way.

One engineering firm had the low bid on finding a gas leak in hundreds of miles of pipeline crossing the dessert. While other companies depended on high tech equipment to detect the leak, this company simply drove along the pipeline until they saw a large gathering of vultures circling overhead.

I don’t know about ice cream, but I do know vultures aren’t big on doughnuts. We had an vulture with an injured wing hanging around in our yard for a while. I tossed part of a doughnut out for one of my chickens & the vulture drop-kicked it back at me before the chicken could even get near it!
