@Vgrift85: No, Hobbes walks home after Calvin gets on the school bus – unless Calvin’s Mom sees him. In that case, he becomes a stuffed animal and she goes out and brings him in.

Hobbes is a buzzkill.

At that age, both sons were experts on dinosaurs. Too, my first born was teaching my dad about how imploding stars become white dwarfs. My dad thought stars only exploded.

Calvin must think they are “wild beasts” because those are much more fun (and they do wilder things than merely migrate)…….

Now THAT’s funny!

Anybody who has seen a wildebeest migration knows that even THEY don’t want to be there. One of the most ghastly animal activities I’ve seen.

Get to be buddies with someone who has a plane at a smaller airport. With connections, it is possible to hitchhike by air.

Darn reality always puts the kibosh on my plans!

After my favorite teacher read to use from “My Side of the Mountain”, I decided I was going to be like the hero of the story. I was going to run away to the Rocky Mountains and live there.

Then I got a map and realized I could not get there since I still wasn’t allowed to leave my yard unescorted.

Well, he could hitchhike to Wales, Alaska, then finagle a native there to fly him across the Bering Strait to Lavrentiya..
