I went to Dr. Butcher once and our coroner was Croak. Maybe Croake. It has been a few decades.

Yes you did, and I apologize for not paying closer attention!

Maybe the day I was taught how to pay attention, I had a substitute teacher…snerk

Regarding “mystery meat”, I think I saw an article in the paper the other day about McDonald’s beef supplier. Turns out, they are starting to butcher their second cow…

Oddest thing…. I moved many states away a few months ago. Out of the blue I received a collection notice for about 70 bucks on behalf of my former electric company (the one I’d been with for ten years!) I had been making payments as promised, but I still got the letter. I called this collection agency, a bit upset, and the fellow said, basically, that they weren’t actually collecting, only notifying, and that I would have to call the power company….. So, I said, it’s a bullying scare tactic? He didn’t answer. I called the power company, voiced my complaint, and paid it off. I hope they got a $70 bill from the collection agency for their “services”. Arggh.

The differences between boys and girls. I have three granddaughters. This incident happened when the eldest two were about 5 and 6. The younger one had a magic wand that came with her fairy outfit so she “poofed” her older sister and said, “You’re a frog.”

The older sister became very upset and complained that she didn’t want to be a frog and even asked my daughter-in-law to make her younger sibling change her back.

Now if the recipient of the “poof” were a boy instead of a girl, the response would have been, “Oh, cool. Ribbit! Ribbit!” as he proceeds to jump around the room.

It saddens me that Calvin and Hobbes would not work in today’s society due to political correctness. Take this comic for example. The teacher’s name seems to prove my point. Watterson was smart to end it in 1995. I wonder what Calvin did with his life after the ending.Calvin mentioned a fresh clean start. Did Calvin all of a sudden come of age during the series finale to Calvin and Hobbes? The final comic left me wanting more. Watterson could have used the ending to form a sequel series to Calvin and Hobbes down the road. I am glad that Watterson did not continue Calvin and Hobbes under a different name. I think the final strip is about coming of age. Calvin probably decided that this year he was going to do well in school maybe and get good grades. I like the ending though and I do think that if Calvin and Hobbes had continued either under the same name and/or a different name it would have lost its quality that it had when it was still running in the newspapers. Does anyone on here know since Calvin was based on John Calvin, whether or not Calvin was a Christian? There was some strips where Calvin doubts God, but as a Christian you can have doubts and still be saved.Hobbes, what is your take on my comment? This is jpb1991. My username is not displayed anymore since I am using my first name on here now.

At my elementary school we made up a jingle about three of

    our teachers:

A Polk and a Peck gives you Payne,

    Hi ho, the derry-o

A Polk and a Peck gives you Payne.

Mr. Payne did actually end up coaching football at the high

    school…thus becoming Coach Payne

Mafia types are not “kneecappers” if they want to get their money back. They want to teach a lesson, not maim someone. Now, the IRA, or someone catching a “snitch”……
