I know you people hate cats, I feel the same way about dogs. If only it had been the dog.

Losing a pet is like losing a family member…yes, all this over a dead cat. >^..^<

To many pets are like family, whether it’s dogs or cats or whatever pet you prefer. If you don’t understand that, then I don’t know what to tell you.

why does it always have to be cats OR dogs? I’ve had both, some at the same time. Depending on how they’re treated and taught, any can bring a special and individual sort of love and devotion into your life. That’s why so many of us want to give it back to them. Thanks to all our fur-babies, and thanks to those of us not afraid of sharing our loss when they pass.

Izzy needs hugs. :( Animals do mourn the loss of a companion. I’ve seen it with my pets.

my other cat wandered the house looking for the one that died and crying out every so often. It was quite sad…..

Some of the comments demonstrate a desperate longing for some to believe they are somehow different from animals. .Happily for the animals and their companions, those people are indeed different.

My heart goes out to you on your loss. I’ve been there. Got a nice granite marker for his grave, they even engraved his image on it.

Just a note to bawana…no, not all this over a dead “cat”…all this over a dead “friend” (or family member). To some of us….many of us…pets are NOT livestock…and frequently treat us better than any “person”.

When I had to put my 18 year old Chow down last April of 2014, my 6 year old Yellow Lab mourned for a month by laying under the table, eating half of his usual food, going out only to relieve himself then back under the table. It was a couple more months before he acted like his old self. Evidently you haven’t owned any dogs or cats.
