Because today’s world is over sterilized! Today’s kids hardly ever get to play in the dirt, like us nearly 50 and over 50 kids, got to do!

I have always thought this comic contained traces of “Peanuts.”

A family member of mine actually had a peanut allergy when he was a kid, the kind that his throat would swell up and cut off breathing. My mom fed him small amounts of peanut butter or peanuts, strictly controlling how much he could eat and after 10 years he no longer had that allergy anymore. Today he can eat peanuts all he wants.

Although I still do remember the emergency room visit the first time when he couldn’t breath.

I have wondered why there is so many allergies today, even gluten seems to be having records amount of people with silliac these days.

It’s because of medicine. In the old days kids with bad peanut allergies simply died when they were young. Now days we can keep them alive. I don’t know if it’s passed down in genetics but if so then over time there would be many, many more kids born with peanut allergies because their parents were kept alive as children because the medicine was available to keep them alive.

The GMO stuff is probably safer – problems bred away.

For those who don’t get it (even though I’m probably too late for anyone to actually see my comment), there’s nothing to “get”; it’s the absurdity of the situation itself that’s funny.
