Gotta watch out, Mom, if most of what you wish for (out loud) all year is for your kids to stopit with X and stopit with Y and stopit with Z … But maybe some kids are just too stuck on thinking that a virtuous life is like giving things up for Lent, or fasting day and night on Yom Kippur or day after day at Ramadan, or emulating the Puritans whenever you notice bad things happening to you. Plain old manners served some useful purposes, even within a family, back when they existed!
