ejcapulet - When my oldest son was 15 months old, a crib couldn’t hold him. (Although I was tempted to fasten a lid over the top of it, to keep him in, I never did.) Our youngest wasn’t a climber, but the oldest sure was. There was no place he couldn’t figure out a way to climb up to if he wanted. He pulled out the kitchen drawers just far enough to use them for a ladder of sorts to get up to the counter height. He opened the door on the dryer, and used it to climb up to the shelf above the machines where I kept cleaning supplies. Thankfully, he just wanted to spray the windex, not drink anything. If I wanted to keep him out of something, I had to lock it up where it required a key to open it. I even put one those plastic things over the doorknob to keep him from opening a door - he took it off and he wasn’t even two yet.
Rmom sound to me when your little one at 15 months old was a good sign for an Engineer figuring how things work.
How old is he now and does he use his skill for better use?
When my boys were small, they were climbers. At about 3 or 4, they learned to climb the doorjams and I would find them all hanging at the top of the door jams like vultures. Let’s hope Max doesn’t discover that!
When I was about 6 months old, I climbed out of my crib and broke the cartilage in one of my feet.
At about 3 years old, I somehow got the Christmas toys down from their hiding place on the overhead shelf in my parents’ bedroom closet. Over their heads. They didn’t know how I did it, nor do I. My first memories are of playing with those toys, including the Slinky Dog you see in Toy Story.

There’s a reason my 2-year-old sleeps in a crib (yes, it’s a very big crib, but it still keeps her in one place).

Little guy is a young Houdini. Least if he keeps it up, he’ll make his family money when he grows up (finally).

He’s Calvin’s little brother. The one that Calvin’s mom saw in her nightmares.

Max’s bedtime routine and Mom’s workout regimen: haul Max back up the stairs 100 times each night.
