As Utah Phillips used to aver: “Politics: ‘Poly’ is Greek for ‘many’, and ticks are blood-sucking insects!” In this example, Ted Cruz loves America the way a tick loves a dog!

    Lessee…

When Obama ran for President in ‘08, the Repubs were screaming bloody murder that as a junior Senator who hadn’t even finished his first term he didn’t have enough experience.

Ted Cruz is also a junior Senator who hasn’t completed his first term.

When Obama ran for President in ’08, the Republicans were screaming bloody murder that he was foreign born, and therefor not eligible.

Ted Cruz is also foreign born.

When Obama ran for President in ’08, the Republicans were screaming bloody murder about his relationship witha radical preacher.

Ted Cuz’s FATHER is a radical preacher. He also chose to make his announcement on the campus of Liberty University, an establishment founded by right-wing radical preacher Jerry Falwell.

I have a private prediction about the responses this post will get from the Tea-Party Repubs. If it pans out, they will fall into one of two categories

Nicely done on Toles’ part. Ted Cruz is an almost perfect example of a man on the make. Talk about wasted potential…

AlexanderTheGoodEnough: Actually, a tick is not an insect, but an arachnid, somewhat related to spiders and scorpions. Other than that, you are accurate. We have too many politicians and not enough statesmen..Before moving to Canada, they were Batistiano Cubans.

Ted Cruz is the reincarnation of Senator Joe McCarthy. I know I am not even close to being the first person to see this, but the similarities are eerie. Hope the damage Cruz causes before he flames out is far less than the damage McCarthy caused.

It’s not a ’stache, just his constant smirk. Cruz gives the other idiots a bad name.

Does anyone else think that Ted Cruz looks (and sounds) a little like former Senator Joseph McCarthy?

Ironic how the last panel depicts the Sun while making fun of someone denying man-made climate change. We can’t control the sun. Also, you need carbon to survive.

this benighted fellow wants to establish a theocracy!A Christian Theocracy. there is a house on C-street, DC, where lives the family" a lot of politicians who want to found a Christian nation, which on 1st glace might sound kinda nice. But the implications are really bad for anyone of a different religion. Further, think about the theocracies you know of. Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran,( maybe).
