Unless its really, really big, even with his head into music and playing gigs at the Pit, Slim would have had to have heard about Cassie (tried to elope with an older pizza flipper and quit on the girls BB team in the championship game). Slim has to know exactly what she is all about. Or does he?
Not really. Not everyone’s plugged into every gossip mill. I can remember the two girls who went to school pregnant my senior year - this being long before the day when that was remotely accepted - and no doubt there was serious gossip about the ID of the father, but I didn’t hear any of it.
