Dude, not everyone really does. I was annoyed to see Steve Perry running around singing during the world series. All I could think was, “Why won’t this guy just go away and let the game continue?”
I wasn’t a big fan, but didn’t have a problem with their pop stuff. Like most, it was played too often. Now, 150 years later, I don’t mind the occasional “hit” on one of the oldies stations.

I’ll admit to some guilty pleasures from the pop genre, but Journey was never one of them.

I’m not a “Journey hater,” but I always preferred Steve Perry’s solo work.
