Clinton, with NATO stopped Serbian aggression without a single combat American loss. "W"’s record, not so good.
What I’m thinking, as it’s the EU that wants Ukraine to join, and “separtists” who formed after the western Ukraine led a coup against the elected government, are Russian speakers and ethnics, maybe Obama wanting European nations, closer indeed to Russia than us, handle things, with at most our partial role to support NATO.
Maybe just a tad bit of “isolationism” might be called for, rather than our constantly picking other folks fights, oceans away?
“The whole of the Balkans is not worth the bones of a single Pomeranian grenadier.”-German Chancellor Otto von Bismarck. How many soldier’s and civilian’s lives have been lost in some of our recent “incursions” Were we really fighting to give democracy to people who don’t want it, or was it for profits? Or perhaps, some other “things”Whatever you want to say about Pres. Obama, he has not casually thrust this nation into any sizeable wars for questionable reasons. Look how the previous administration marched our military into profitable adventures which did not threaten the vital interests of our country. (corporate profits, yes, but where were the WMDs? Where were the terrorist training camps in Iraq?)Are we, the American people, willing to risk a potentially destructive, perhaps nuclear, showdown with Russia over Ukraine? For a President who did not serve in the military, I think Obama is being far more careful, and sane, than the Cheney-Rumsfeld-Rice-Wolfowitz-Powell-Bush gang ever was!

Germany is about 400 miles from the Russian border. I guess I would have second thoughts about heating up the cold war too.

Sounds like you want to invade again! Another trillion dollar war? How original. The Russian nukes can reach the US.

After two World Wars, both based in Europe, please forgive us if we hesitate over a third.
