Either that, or my middle school gym teacher switched to teaching math.

I like this strip except for all the bad math memories it brings up. I still have nightmares….

I know my old math teacher retired cause she was 10 years older than God when I had her and that was—never you mind how many years ago.

I liked math also. At least the tests had definite answers as opposed to those essay things in the social sciences.

I’ll take math to analyzing literature any day of the week. I kept wondering what my English teachers were smoking.

Can you imagine if a real teacher did this? Can you say suspension?

My High School Geometry teacher, Mr. Nordeen, was like this but, to him, the scariest thing was to get me and my friends back in his class the next year - so he gave us “D”s just to ruin our GPA and get us outta there. I went to another Geometry class later and got a A+ instead. Now I work in aerospace and teach High School math & science. But, boy!, do I have horror stories to tell the children…

I know this has nothing to do with the strip but I had the same fifth grade teacher that my mother had.

As has been stated above, at least math has definite answers. I just did not get that essay business. In fact, I never wrote one.

I had a college prof who’d have upper classmen carry the midterm into the classroom in a coffin, dressed in black, chanting death dirges.

My math teacher in the seventh grade was also the band teacher (go figure), As a math teacher he was a pretty cool guy but, as the music teacher…… Let me say that I had his baton thrown in my direction more then once.

    @ Tanya,

I loved math too. The subject that I had problems with was English. My 7th grade English class was the only class I ever got an F in.

Of course, that may have been because I disliked the teacher.
