And Tía Carmen’s cousin Sylvia lives 40 minutes away (today’s “Baldo”).

At least talking over the fence, the NSA can’t ease drop like they do with phone, text, tweet, or facebook.

hey i sometimes text my kids when they are near me but since two of them are mild to moderately deaf, they may not hear me talk to them

Instead of freezing outside go in the house though quieter outside. No kids inside.

I would take a text over standing out there in the freezing cold!

Or… you could get out of the cold & sit at one of your tables.

If they can see their breath, it’s cold enough to go inside :-).

I meet my neighbor at this 12 ft. low part of our fence all the time. I’ll call her up (or vice versa) and say….“meet me at the fence. I have [such & such] for you.” Not too much when it rains or is cold but it works fine and we keep it short then!! It’s only a 6-7 ft. walk for either of us….Big deal!!

The fence was there before they were neighbors. They had to rebuild part of it at one point but didn’t need to change it from what was already there.
