Joan: Do you ever think it's funny that we stand here and talk over the fence? Val: Why would I think it's funny? Joan: It's the 21st century! We can phone, text, tweet, chat on Facebook... Val: We live next DOOR to each other! Joan: I guess it does have an old world charm to it.

And Tía Carmen’s cousin Sylvia lives 40 minutes away (today’s “Baldo”).

At least talking over the fence, the NSA can’t ease drop like they do with phone, text, tweet, or facebook.

Or… you could get out of the cold & sit at one of your tables.

If they can see their breath, it’s cold enough to go inside :-).

just don’t do it over the back fence on Sunday afternoon in Indiana……it’s illegal.

I meet my neighbor at this 12 ft. low part of our fence all the time. I’ll call her up (or vice versa) and say….“meet me at the fence. I have [such & such] for you.” Not too much when it rains or is cold but it works fine and we keep it short then!! It’s only a 6-7 ft. walk for either of us….Big deal!!

The fence was there before they were neighbors. They had to rebuild part of it at one point but didn’t need to change it from what was already there.
