For a stuffed tiger, Hobbes sure has a very expressive face.

I would hazard a guess that Bill Waterson’s well might have been running a little dry that day, and so he proceeds to masterfully demonstrate how to make lemonade from a lemon. (Sorry for mixing the metaphors…)

Be sure to submit your patent for that. And include the smaller, eco “Green”, variations.

Yes, Bill Watterson — you were always ahead of your time with this strip!

I remember once reading that somebody was planning to market a novelty item, a block of wood that you would put on your desk with “mental block” written on it. I have deliberately not googled or looked on Amazon to see if there is such an item for sale, but I wouldn’t be surprised. At least I guess you could use it as a paper weight.

That idea was formed in 1975 by a Princeton student named Phil Gould.

Years ago, I purchased several gallons of distilled water from the local market and pasted labels saying “Latex Paint Thinner” on the plastic containers. We then created a feature end with the product displayed and a sign stating, “Latex Paint thinner”, $1.99 gallon. (the distilled water actually cost $1.49 gallon at the next door Red Owl store).Although we never actually sold any product; i.e., we explained it was just a joke, it was amazing how many folks brought a gallon or two to the cashier..I am sure some will be critical of this…
