So sad something so important is immediately politicized. Wonder if they ever thought of putting humanity first?

Only 1,550 nuclear weapons many times the power of Bikini atoll, not just Hiroshima. Add in the 200+ Israel denies having, and well, we’re still at square one in the countdown.

The ABSURDITY of the US government sacrificing its OWN (those who trust their government), by asking them to unknowingly end their life by pushing the Doomsday Clock; when the government should be encouraging their employees to: Evaluate every situation presented to them; to not take uncalculated RISKs; to make wise decisions, and to ask the important questions..

The last time India & Pakistan had a bit of brinkmanship with threats of mutual nukeing, I chatted with Indian & Pakistani expats here in Britain. I was struck by their lack of understanding what a nuclear war meant. I’m getting the same feeling reading and watching the latest reactions in the US. Back during the Cold War (with hot proxy wars everywhere else), we all were aware of M.A.D. Has this education been lost?

Incredibly selective memories or complete liars! Do they not remember 15 months ago the country was going down the tubes on their watch. The country is now in recovery and they want their jobs back??

I do not confuse a gopher snake with a cobra. I do not confuse nut case “leaders” with their countries. I do not confuse folks who slap us in the face, repeatedly, while committing illegal acts or war crimes, with “true friends”.

People who confuse Netanyahu and AIPAC with actually representing all Israelis and their views, are the victims of rhetoric.

Netanyahu and Ahmadinijad are merely flip sides of the same coin– they don’t really care who their countrymen really are, or what they think.

I don’t like or trust either of them.

Canbag; humanity first? That means admitting America is just a nation among others, not bound to rule the world and that the entire Muslim world is not a huge mistake. Completely heretic!

Cripes, this set of posts is weird. We still have plenty of bombs, enough to sterilize a continent or two directly, and destroy all life on Earth larger than a microbe if we place them carefully. Physicists worked this out a while ago: place H-bombs around the Ring of Fire, kick up enough of the continental plate to allow the Pacific to pour onto the molten lava below, and the steam resulting will blast the entire crust off “like the cover off a baseball.” I think the estimate I heard was 200 H-Bombs. We have – what? Thousands?

no, ncognito is right. All the nuclear bombs we have don’t have any more power than Peter Griffin’s farth.
