You tie my tie while I tie your tie. Usually Views cartoons are at least a week old so today’s ‘toon won’t refer to last night’s riots. 18 dead, over 800 injured. I suppose this scene with the Thai national symbol is depicting the protest camps around Bangkok in the past month? My work mate gets updates from a Thai friend who returned to Thailand a couple years ago and we had just seen her latest photos on Facebook yesterday afternoon. Wouldn’t think her country is in such turmoil from her accounts.

I have learned our media is not to be trusted. If you keep in touch with somebody impartial on the scene and living it, I would think that is better information..Interested in what she posts after this…..

Anecdotal reports have their own problems but they definitely add to the overall picture.

One thing is certain, Thailand has serious issues. I doubt that new elections will solve anything. Neither side will accept the results. When you add the king into the mix it gets worse. I hate to think what will happen when he dies. His heir is despised by many. Of course, with everything else there is no way they’ll be able to finish disengaging the throne from politics.
