Thanks for the link, lwp; I’m one of those seniors who never heard of this. The disturbing part is his family having received death threats. My father was right, and that was 40 years ago: this country has become ungovernable. But we are exceptional. Not sure that’s a good thing.

In another part of the interview the girl says that the publicity has been good, but that she has found it “tiring”. The propensity of the traditional media to eat people up and spit them out seems to be intensified tenfold by social media.

To all the posters who thanked me, I’m glad I was able to help. I find it quite upsetting how technology has made the world shallow and intruded into the private lives of ordinary people.Alex originally enjoyed the attention but then, he and his family saw the dark side. Social Media makes you vulnerable to compete strangers.
