Wally can be such a wet blanket. Now, none of the people in the crowd are going to be happy at having come to see the fight. He really should learn to be more aware of how other people feel.

Wally is of one mind, stupid cat! Is this a manifest trait of his adopted species? My kitties can get very single minded when they have one thing on their tiny minds.Wally has been benched by Coach Aaron for most of the game.Has he had enough of it all? It’s not like our tenacious Feline to give up so easily. He’s been through so much…He’s been through so… Much. Now it’s Wally’s turn at bat..As the Ball.

So who is handling the betting for this match? Maybe the Dragon Folk want the illusion of fairness, but still need to prove their superiority. ___________

I am counting on Wally almost giving up and losing until someone says the wrong thing. Maybe Jim. Perhaps dittos are the ghosts of mutants who went through schism syndrome. Jim may have had some connection with the unconscious, and perhaps dittos are what happens to mutants who schism and die. Maybe, maybe something else. Wally may see Holly and Chic after they escape the laundry, and find his inner warrior, but I expect that reunion later, for some reason. We’ll see. Lock your trays and raise your seats to the upright level, and fasten your seatbelts. Congratulations and thanks to all who have helped Aaron and the Cat and Mouse who live in his head through Patreon . Good stuff!

Yeah, there’s no way they’d escape. It’s not like this is a comic strip. This is real life.

Wally doesn’t want hope, in case it’s false. He’s forgotten that sometimes hope isn’t false.

If Wally won’t fight maybe his wild feline side will. We’ve seen it in action before.

Seems like there is some hope for the reptilians as well.

I’m sure Holly would want Wally to go on, and not just stand there and let Phil kill him…then again, she didn’t want him to fight in the first place…

Wally is sometimes amazing how little credit he gives to Holly. He has yet to understand she is a survivor, maybe not a warrior but ones does not need to be a fighter to survive.

Can’t write off Holly Chic, and the bug. I’m not writing off Jim-thing either until it’s shown that it’s stopped moving forever. I believe it’s already survived a broken neck, and might still be moving around out there.

Poor Wally is having a heroic blue screen of death moment it would seem. I’m actually surprised this female lizard cares so much that he won’t fight back. She’s leading him to his death (I’d imagine under command of a superior). In this society I’d presume you’d be indifferent. Unless….we’ll be seeing more of this particular lizard? Hmm…

At least we know that not all the lizard-folk are as bad as Sarah.

Man, I’m still in shock at how she turned out.

Let’s not forget that these lizards were all human before mutating…their colony has evolved/devolved into what it is after the war, but it’s hard to imagine they were ALL hard-hearted b—-ards as humans.

Maybe a “Popeye & Spinach moment” during a one sided massacre when Wally gets a view of Holly…. Holly & Chic are going up through a hole are they not? possibly they’ve gone. How would they find themselves in the auditorium right place right time?

Cant take anything for granted here…..

Meanwhile, Wally’s dittos have been communicating with Mallard’s, and Mallard has sent Petey to the rescue.

This is very well written. We the readers may feel angry or frustrated with Wally’s choices, but his state of mind is believable. Knowing his personality and his background experiences, it all rings true.

Feeling the urge to point out an error here…lemme see…there’s no clock in the cell that I’ve seen…if Wally had a watch the lizards would have confiscated / stole it when they brought him in…so how does Wally know a half hour passed since he talked with Holly?

Don’t fool yourself lady. The only reason this fight is even a thing is because this is basically what the lizards want to see. I mean, they already know how it ought to end.

You all are doing great with your summing up of the situation. This is why reading the comments are so good with this site.Jim may not be dead and I hope that Holly and Chic are staying out of sight and finding where the match is. Plus it could be that Sarah will make a power play. So many possiblities.

Some people have a very good sense of time. Sometimes too good. I keep waking up a few minutes before the alarm goes off instead of getting a few minutes more sleep. Sometimes I wonder why I bother setting timers for dinner because I go to check on it just as the timer goes off.
