Two questions: Do deer need a hunting license? Is there a limit on humans?

One of my favorite C & H strips. Probably wouldn’t make it past the editors today.

Brilliant!

If I were the teacher, I’d give an A for that report. Thoughtful and insightful. Maybe incite-ful, too.
rentier about 9 years ago
Why just Frank? Poor Frank!!
rentier about 9 years ago
Commentors, have you seen? There is not only Bill Watterson in the headline, there is a certain Jenny Robb, too? Who is this?
lonkodektes about 9 years ago
This is really smart and teachers should be proud of him, at least for good observation.

Hunting: the only sport in which only one side knows there is a game, and the loser dies. Level the playing field: make hunters use only antlers for weapons.

We need a population decline.
ShadowBeast Premium Member about 9 years ago
Yeah because people aren’t agree to any solutions that will help future generations.
mshartline about 9 years ago
The deer have maintained a feeding station all year so they could sit and pick off the unsuspecting humans during “hunting” season. Wonder where they learned that?

I’m guessing that Mom and Dad keep either a tally sheet or a log to track whose turn it is for the next P-T conference.

Calvin in today’s world would be suspended, put into therapy and/or jail, along with his parents.
Eclectic-1 about 9 years ago
This is a repeat. Watterson having writer’s block ?

Eclectic-1I believe that he’s retired and they are ALL repeats

So, if the population doubles in another two (or even one!) generation, that would put the total population at 14.25 billion by 2080 or so? Then, 28.5 billion by the first quarter of the 22nd century!!

‘If it’s good enough for the deer population…’
tripwire45 about 9 years ago
Would have been more sporting if Frank were packing heat, too.

Calvin and Hobbes are one of the a few comic strips, that can make me, laugh at loud. Todays is no exception (truly funny).

Let a kid talk like that tin school these days and you will find the swat team, social services and the MSM at the parents’ front door.
pammyjopatt about 9 years ago
Probably my favorite comic of all time!
Alexander the Good Enough about 9 years ago
Looks like the deers bagged themselves a “Fat-bellied Stogie Sucker.” And them’s good eatin’!
lcgaunnac about 9 years ago
I am curious why you said both parents hopefully work. Is there some reason you don’t approve of one parent staying home with the children?
InuYugiHakusho about 9 years ago
Calvin’s parents have so many conferences with his teacher that they probably have their own personalized coffee mugs at his school.

Oh deer deer me, Is there an expression on some desk somewhere that says that “The Buck stops here?”
Godfather Vito about 9 years ago
I wouldn’t mind the deer thinning the herd if they would start in Washington

I’m curious how many people who express a dislike for hunting and hunters are vegetarians or vegans?

Last time I looked, thinning the herd is WAY overdue!.They are breeding at an alarming rate…
westny77 about 9 years ago
Oh dear Calvin is such a riot. Seriously the deer have gotten brazen this past few years. I noticed they gather in groups in the parking lot and don’t scurry when you approach.
PrdPolack about 9 years ago
That should put ‘game’ hunters on notice.
