The cop didn’t know the gun wasn’t real. A 12 year old can kill with a real gun just as quickly as an adult. I’d support a ban on toy guns before blaming a cop who was forced into a split second decision. It is a horrific tragedy.

I find the racism of some of the comments on this and other cartoons quite shocking. I really hope that the people posting such are just a small vocal minority.

How many folks, and especially kids, killed by guns NOT in the hands of police in the last week? How many kids are killed by guns they think are toys, and how many kids MAKE their toy guns look MORE like REAL ones by taking those orange tips off?

Racism in the last six years has increased tremendously in the last six years, and it’s been fueled by all sides, and especially in “certain” talk media. But every time a cop stops or arrests a “person of color”, whether that’s Black, White, Brown, or “red”, it doesn’t mean it’s a racial incident, even if the suspect DOES escalate the violence of the contact. (LIke when Rodney King was strangling one of the cops trying to arrest him, before he got taken down. That’s the part of the original tape that doesn’t get shown very often.)

OK, Why did Cleveland PD hire him? Are they that hard up for people?

There are several right wing militia groups in the US. Just because you’re either unaware of any or you just want to live in denial doesn’t make it so. Go look up the Posse Comitatus for starters.3) If you disagree with my post, then present a counter argument. If all you do is say I’m wrong and call me and/or my post idiotic, you demonstrate that you can’t argue against my post. It also earns you a reputation for being an obnoxious troll and can possibly get you banned.

Just a reflection here? For decades, conservatives, and coservative media have labeled government, ALL government as the problem, and evil. Now these recent cases have again gotten the “liberal” side to also gang up on all forms of government.

Tell me again who really controls the media, out to indeed shape children’s, of all ages, minds.

Jase99: note I said they labeled it the problem, long seen, and known how those same have GROWN the problem, like forming Homeland Security adding 33 new departments and directorships, not to mention all that “private” contracting to NSA and other “intelligence” agencies under "W"s putch, ‘er, push. (Not to mention Part D costs might drop as much as 80% if Republicans hadn’t prohibited price negotiatons for Medicare.)
