My cat never tries to get in my bedroom door… never.

The bathroom, on the other hand, I am convinced has a sign on it that only cats can see, and that sign instills in them an insatiable drive for incessant meowing, and – as demonstrated so well by Puck and the gang – trying the impossible… crawling under the door.

That is the Bathroom door. Me, I let them in, they are much happier when I do. Chester wants a drink from the tub spigot. Roy wants to hide behind the shower curtain and bat at anything foolish enough to get in range. Poodle wants to sit on the shower stool and stare at me. And Mama Taffy has to stretch (with claws extended) on my knee and receive pets.

Our cats just can’t stand for a door to be closed. The bathroom door is normally open to allow access to one of 5 litter boxes. Close that door and the kids go nutz.

I’ve had this happen. A little ball with a bell in it will drive them crazy when you roll it against the door.

Our late cat Grella would love to come in while my wife was taking a bath. She would walk along the edge of the tub trying not to slip in. We at the time had an old free standing tub. Now if I was taking the bath Mango the German Shepard had to come in and become the floor mat.

Since I have 5 cats and 1 dog and live alone I figure what the hey. I removed most of the doors in the house. The cats were always on the wrong side. I put the guest bedroom door and guest bath door back on when having company. I just use blackout curtains for doors on my bedroom and attached bath. The cats and dog love it. It still gives them access to fresh water and me at all times.

This is so my cats! One of my cats have figured out if she stands on her hind legs she can actually play with the door knob. I’m waiting for the day she figures out how to open the door!

Our door is pretty useless one likes to sit on top of the open door, one likes the laundry hamper for naps another likes the towel closet for the same reason, giving up just made sense.

Unless there’s another human in the house, I usually don’t even bother to shut the bathroom door any more. .Nor should I – after all, it’s their “bathroom” too.

Our Manx can open doors (our doors have handles, not knobs). It’s easy for him to open doors that open away from him — he just pulls the handle down and leans on the door. But he can open doors that open toward him. He puts one paw on the doorjamb, pulls the handle down, then slams his shoulder against the door, and it opens about an inch. Then he pulls it open. Manxes are the smartest cats I’ve seen. I think it’s because they’re in their last incarnation before they become human. They’re half-way there — they’ve already lost their tail.

What a great strip! I lived with 6 of them but lost 2 elderly ones recently. Of course they follow me into the bathroom.

Or the tip of a tail appears under the door if I have to close it!

Lupin: The woman is in a room we can’t get into.

Elvis: We go now live to Puck.

Puck: CN News Ma’am. What are you doing in there? Ma’am?

Woman: Pucky, I’ll be out soon.

    Puck: CN News…

    Woman: Puck, stop.

    Puck: Ma’am?

    Lupin: Ma’am?

    Puck: Ma’am?

    Woman: Sigh.

    Elvis: Ma’am?

More than once Hubby would be finished with his “business” in the bathroom and he would reach down to pull up his pants only to find our Tom Dooley snuggling in there.
