Sorry, but I’ve been in law enforcement (never shot anyone, even in situations similar to the one Wilson faced) and listened to the description of physical evidence in the case. On a personal experience level, I question why the cop shot Brown, but I wasn’t there. The evidence DOES show it was by most police protocols around the country, the shooting was legitimate, even if not necessarily the most rational outcome.

BUT the fact remains, if Brown had NOT robbed the store, and police calls had not been heard by Wilson to apprehend the suspects, and Brown had NOT confronted the officer in an assault at his car, proven by physical evidence, not just “witness statements” (several of whom changed their stories, or admitted they didn’t actually see what they first claimed) then Brown may not have been in large part responsible for his own demise. But the facts revealed he WAS culpable as well.

Having a relative living in Watts at the time of BOTH riots actually, and seeing that it WAS outsiders drawn in by the media coverage to the riots, I also see that the weeks of commentary with NO facts at hand by commentators in the “news” and media big-mouths, on all sides, were also culpable in the outcome of rioting, looting, and destruction of property, AND law and true “justice”.

Also, while I’m not fond of “the South” having had bad experiences with the “locals”, the bigotry, and injustice, in America today is NOT confined to the South, it is a national problem of prejudice, on the part of both "minority groups’ AND the “majority group” in any region or locality.

The BS being spread by all sides now is deplorable, and pretty disgusting. There are facts out there now, and the Brown situation does indicate failures, on all sides, but the media and “public” response, is the greatest failure.

Speaking of racism, your snide remark about Jheri curl smells of it.

You noticed this too? The less technical term for assaulting a policeman in his patrol car and trying to take his pistol is “suicide by cop”.

    1. As someone who’s lived in Missouri over half my life, I can tell you that some people here think of it as southern and some people don’t. St. Louis, where I live now, has been called “the city of Northern charm and Southern efficiency.” It has both northern and southern flavors of racism. But what would I know about it? 2. You seem to believe the cop’s account. That’s pretty credulous. He’s known to have lied, if nothing else, by his self-contradictory statements.
