The house where I grew up is an old converted barn. And we do have desks and chairs.

    1. he isn’t raised yet, he is in the process of being raised. 2. A barn conversion is no longer a barn. If it were still a barn, it wouldn’t be converted. Unless it started out as something else and has been converted into a barn. In which case office furniture would not be in there, except perhaps for storange.

    So there. ;-)

When I was that age, I once answered; “No, but I’m learning fast.” It didn’t seem to be the desired responce.

A chair and a desk/table is not unusual in barns.

Maybe not the office kind, but I’ve seen a lot of fancy furniture at the (Pottery) Barn.

Before I was born my family moved from the small house they were living in to a farm were the house was still being built. For the summer they lived in the barn while the house was being finished and my brother Dan was about that time. Later my mom would always regret asking him if he was raised in a barn because he’d say, “Yes!”

I have seen many barns with office furniture: barns that teach riding, barns that deal with race horses, breeding stables, etc.

Is furniture made for the man, or man made for the furniture?

While they can be connected, the terms “born in a barn” and “the barn door is open” should not be confused.
