@2old,getting younger…congrats, you said it perfectly!

@somebodyshort ..I can’t quite picture that they will have kids. Phil doesn’t seem like the kind of guy who needs/wants his own baby. Plus with all the people speculating that this is the beginning of the end, I’m starting to lean that way also. I’m thinking Jan had a great run and wants to retire. Hopefully it will take a good long year so we can continue to enjoy being relatives to the Stone family.

Well-planned synchronization of the dailies and Sundays with this story. Thanks, Jan.

Wally is a great guy and Phil should follow his advice—there hasn’t been anything in our married life that my wife and I haven’t face TOGETHER, that is the secret. Getting married, basically made you ‘one’ person and that is how you handle things. I, too, don’t foresee any ‘wee ones’ in Val and Phil’s future—who would want more after Holly and Alix. Phil could always adopt them so they could be counted as ‘his’ children.Again, BRAVO for Wally ! ! ! !

18 years and she tells me she is ok with ending up alone. I’m good for her but she wants it ALL. At least there are no kids involved (part of the problem I’m told). I now know why I hate Christmas.

I totally disagree, if you want to live with someone, marry them……..that old saying about seeing if you can live together is something you do after marriage and you learn to make it work.

Statistically, couples who live together for more than six months before getting married are more likely to get a divorce, not less. Things start to go bad, and they decide to get married to “fix” the situation, which is about as smart as having a baby to “save” your marriage.

Wally is a wise man and will have a good long marriage, no matter how long the strip continues. And thanks to you veteran married people (52 years, 61 years) for making me feel like a kid (30 years this April).

BTW, if you have the Wrong partner, it’s never a good idea to live together.

Then my hubby and I are idiotic as you state. We never moved into together. Sadly we did not start building our lives together until long after marriage. Finding a home together.

God, this estrogen-fueled “comic strip” makes me barf……this wimp didn’t “jump” into an engagement, he was pushed by a bunch of females….

I sure hope they live together for awhile before running to the altar… it makes for less of a mess, if things don’t work out.

Finally signed up! Been loving this strip, others, and comments forever, but as a “lurker”.

Had to say about comments here:Been married twice. Odd as it may sound, I agree totally with IndyMan and others about facing life and problems together. It’s part of what I learned from marriage #1, and if I was not the only one trying to face life “together”, I sincerely believe I would not have lost my soul mate, partner, future in marriage #2. And “living together first” (we did, but very briefly before engagement) indicates a lack of the level of commitment necessary to MAKE “living together” even work, IMHO. That said, we all do what seems best at the time, and who am I to judge?

Love this strip! Went to the beginning as I was struggling with “losing” the father of my 2 blessings, and my own changing self image. Been very empowering and cathartic. Hope it’s not ending!!!

Oh, and Kab Buch, congrats on nearing the end of your classes! As I said, I’ve been “lurking”, so I know you’ve been working hard on it for quite awhile (hope that’s not creepy).;-)

Phil’s face looks a combination of relief, contentment with a little douse of apprehension. Now Evie has to be informed. She too could be a stabilizing force even if from a distance. If she could take the leap, surely Phil and Val can.
