And if after a few years of torture (sorry enhanced interrogation) it turns out they didn’t do anything wrong simply say: “They didn’t do anything bad but now that are dangerous to our security and we have no other choice then keep them locked up for live.”

Keeping somebody (anybody, citizen or not) in a secret offshore prison for years without trial or hearing flies in the face of our entire system of jurisprudence.

Americans have had a reputation for a couple centuries of allowing the most heinous criminals their day in court, to confront their accusers, in a trial by their peers (a jury).
