Well, I suppose a kayak is preferable to a cigarette boat in Nebraska, which was reported years ago. Just another example of Heimwehr at work.

Disposing of “surplus” has long been a millitary thing, but it used to be stuff that was obsolete and/or worn out. The stuff they’re getting rid of now is mostly excess, purchased at high cost, though not needed, like more M-1 tanks the Army doesn’t want to buy, but all those districts out there demanding their Congresspersons “think local”, and bring home the pork, will again vote for “he/she who does the most for the least of us”!

In Arkansas, " rogue sheriff" is redundant.

As to why a coroner would need a pistol and an M-16? Maybe he plans on drumming up some business on his own?
