My son loves football and he’s far from the most talented player but he works hard and the coaches play him occasionally to reward the hard work. I sit through every game hoping to see him in for a few plays. That’s what parents do for their kidlets.

Roger came through big time. Peter may have to play chess with him.

Almost makes up for never going to the kid’s practices, right?

As a parent of a kid not finishing up near the top, I’m with Roger. In years to come, the most important thing will be that dad was in the bleachers, not that he wasn’t a star (or a starter or even a player).

If I cheered for my 14 year old daughter when she plays softball, it would embarrass her to death!

She’s 14, dstuff. She’d be embarrassed to death if you so much as said “Hello” to her in public! ;)

Like Peter here wasn’t embarrassed to death? She’d secretly love every second of it.
