Is “pragmatic” the same as “cold-blooded”? Although, I did see this movie before. “The Woman Who Would be King.”

    Three words: Impending Power Struggle.

Unless Sarah can convince the other lizard-folk that she’s the best reptilian for the job.

I’m wondering where she got her “extensive administrative and logistical training.” Maybe she did have some role in the creation of the mutagenic plague, after all…

I hope she isn’t underestimating the difficulty of getting people to listen to her. If there’s two things I know its that people don’t like being told that their way of doing things is wrong and that it can be very hard to convince them to change even with overwhelming evidence.

The guy in charge of the Manhattan Project was an army engineer—-you don’t have to figure things out, you just have to see that the people who can get it done do get it done.

I really admire Sarah’s willingness to take on this settlement’s problems. I wonder what sort of ideas she has, if any, about how to fix things. She outlined 2 main problems in the last strip. The Lizards are running short of supplies. Armed robbery isn’t yielding the results it used to and eating eggs and nonreptilian babies will eventually be a nutritional dead end. She needs to find a new source of supplies, and it can’t be too well guarded because it they only have wooden swords and (apparently) useless firearms to fight with. The colony’s using infanticide to create a reptilian only colony is wasting resources. It can create reptilian babies for this generation but the next generation is going to go through the same things. She either needs to convince the rest of the colony to broaden their thinking (good luck with that) or she needs to come up with some way to protect the lizards progeny from mutating in the egg (given the colony’s resource level, this would be only a little easier than changing the colony’s thinking). It will be interesting to see what she proposes.

Really? Do they mention what a hounddog Opje was? Including trying to seduce Teller’s wife in front of him? Or how about Opje being unable to get a security clearance to attend a seminar he was giving because so many of his conquests were Communists? Opje tried Communism but didn’t inhale.Lots of great stories about Trinity, but the bit about the Bhagavad-Gita being on his thoughts when the gadget worked was added later, for a magazine article, to make him sound more profound. He was an absolute highly functional genius, but “Yay, It worked” was his original thoughts when the gadget detonated successfully.

Thanks…sometimes I know too much about these real-life things to appreciate any dramatization / fictionization. But some of them I like a lot.
