    Interesting cartoon. Re. the second panel;

    Many people consider Reagan to be one of our finest presidents. Others do not. However, it might be considered that,, some 30 years’ on, his legacy might not be living up to that assessment.

    Lincoln, on the other hand, after 150 years, is probably a consensus for best president. But note that, if you look at the immediate reaction to his first election, and the ruinous war that followed, you might also conclude that he was also the most divisive president, by far.

    No matter what the lefties say, Reagan brought positive results. The problem today is that so many want to be President simply to be president. They have no idea of what needs to be done after taking office.

    It is time for the adults to take over.

    Why do leftists constantly affirm that Reagan could not win the republican nomination today? Admittedly there were a lot of centrists in the Republican party then, but he moved the whole party to the right. Centrist republicans back then had the capacity to learn. The only reason he would have difficulty winning the republican nomination today is because there are so many other real conservatives running. That’s why a wishy-washy moderate can win the nomination with only 20% of the vote.

    Leftists who make lunatic assertions about spending ought to look at the real numbers. Defense spending today is only 19% of Federal spending. That was not the case when we had competent leadership in the 1980s.
