You did it now, Holly!!! Actually, there are plenty of girls’ clothes that resemble those of boys. At least the fit would be right! ;)

Hey, if it gets her wearing clothes that fit, go for it. At least she won’t look like an underage hooker (which is how most clothing companies and many advertisements seem to want girls to dress).

@somebodyshortAnd following the next 15 years your daughter will start wearing male clothing again and will probably look good in them.

… makes sense. Funny: the stuff mom and sis are holding up looks even tinier than for a 3-year-old.. in a weird turn, the kids in this comic don’t stay frozen in time, they all become tiny-sized-no-grow-beings. This aspect honestly is creepy. During one year they shoot up so you’d buy clothes at least one or two numbers larger.. unless you’re Rockefeller (or perhaps especially if you’re..)

I’m 22 and I still prefer shopping in the boys’/men’s section! xD Especially for the shoes and shirts and pants!

I shop there now! I’m female, old and tiny, and I shop the boys dept in Target or Kohls …… trousers have a higher rise, deeper pockets and are better made, and cheap!

A buddy of mine discovered he could buy leather jackets that fit in the boys department. They looked great and were much cheaper. I was always too chubby for that, $igh…

Strod, you are quite correct. Besides, a girl can do MANY things a boy does even in a skirt, i.e., looking for crayfish, fishing, riding bike, etc.

Holly may be mortified that Alix took her suggestion, but Mom has a bit of a smile going on.

I often buy men’s T-shirts for myself and I’ll borrow one of hubby’s shirts to wear over T-shirt and jeans. I also have smallish feet and buy boy’s sneakers as they are wider and more comfortable.

I have NEVER shopped for boys clothing for myself or daughter (for sons, grandsons and even BFs, yes).

Perhaps more so because I worked in a “man’s” field (engineering and construction), it is important to maintain my femininity. My first (plain white) hardhat was adorned, not just with my nickname, but also a few glue-on rhinestones.

Holly you spoke the magic words to Alix.

When I was a kid my mom was very tight with money, either due to dad working or getting laid-off. She bought old out of style clothes me and sister for school we was ridiculed. When I finally got a job last year of HS I bought my first set of new clothes that I wanted nothing fancy, I loved that. After getting married and two children 28 years ago for daughter. First child son. Our daughter when she got older would change her clothes and wear her brother’s clothes until she got older. With me I cannot wear my hubby’s clothes far too big. I miss having nice clothes now unemployed I am back to wearing hand me downs. Women have the worst taste.

You ever compare the quality of men’s to any women’s clothing? Mens clothing is practical, sturdy and comfortable. Most of women’s clothing on the other hand is designed to either look trashy/sexual or just be so cheap and poorly made it won’t last a season.Go Alix! Holly needs to learn a bit from you.

Thanks, Night. I had to prove myself at each new job, but I did and as a mom of 4 (in 5 years) I was not in the best shape even then, but I work out now and in retirement, finally getting to indulge some of my hobbies (more time and less money) AND (per you last comment) I DO work out (even if my heaviest is a pair of 15# dumbbells).
