The big lie! The Republicans keep trying to rewrite history and attribute Bush’s law to President Obama. It really is a good law trying to protect children but it suffers from chronic under funding which causes the process to drag on for years rather than concluding in weeks or months. Of course Congress left for vacation and fund raising without doing anything again. They would really like to immediately ship 12 million undocumented people back to Mexico immediately but it probably won’t happen because they will try to use the Social Security Trust fund to finance it.
It is ironic that the cartoonist depicts Republicans as using the influx of illegal immigration as a political opportunity given that the left (and I include the cartoonist in this) is desperately playing on the child immigrant surge for political points.
SizeofaPea: I did, when I was on so many blacklists I couldn’t support my family. And when the kids were grown and I could provide for my wife and me, I came back to my own country. Just like Willy Brandt did from the safety of Norway to continue his fight against tyranny in Germany..And stop your lies. Canada does not have socialized medicine, just government health insurance. They chose their own doctor, who works on a fee-for-service system. My own doctor there did not have Norman Rockwell paintings of a doctor standing vigil over the home bedstead of a sick child (doesn’t happen in the US either), but copies of his research papers from major medical journals. Does your general practitioner have that kind of wallpaper?
