So, do they speak for that nanosecond at midnight? Is it rounded to the entire minute? Perhaps just long enough to realize that they have nothing to say.

It is actually 12 midnight on Christmas Eve when God gave animals the gift of speech - not Christmas day.

How’s life treating you? Rough! What is over your head? Roof! What’s the name of the boy next door? Ralph! Who’s your favorite baseball player? Demaggio!

Is anybody here old enough to remember the wonderful Christmas episode of “I Remember Mama”? The youngest child went out to the barn at midnight to talk to the animals, but hiding there was a burglar planning to rob them while they slept. He began answering her as if he were an animal and, by the end of the episode, he had abandoned his burglary plans. They showed this every Christmas. I’m 78 and I still remember it with fondness.

Would love to hear what a dog is thinking. Ours be food, play fetch, and go walk, followed by nap time.

Why would anyone tell kids that story? That would make them want to stay up late to hear the animals. I’d want kids to go to bed early.

Is Midnight on Christmas in the early morning or late night? I would think it is the very end of the day.
