I love when Ruthie uses makeup! Her skill in applying it needs work, and it always turns out um, sort of overdone! It reminds me of Avis, who uses a trowel to apply hers. Ruthie is much better looking, though!
I doubt that much wax actually figures in the dummies made now-a-days. It is probably a mix of acrylics and plastic, possibly mixed with some wax (especially where hairs must be applied one at a time). I’m glad I don’t need to make one.
I don’t know how many books Rick Detorie had published with his One Big Happy strips, but I have 4 of them, from ‘97, ’98,’99 and 2001. The ’99 book is titled “Nice Costs Extra”, and there is a four strip series about Ruthie & her costume for Halloween. She is dressed and made up, compete with a blonde wig & guitar, as Dolly Parton! Looks a lot like her, too! What a hoot!
