I was at Lowery AFB in 1961 in Radar Tech School and in the afternoon I worked in the Orderly Room typing Duty Rosters and what ever needed done. I did one list for a ‘Polio Detail’. The NCO had the handwriting of a doctor. It was to have been a ‘Police Detail’ picking up trash. Next time he printed what he wanted typed (or did it himself).
To Woody 157. I was at Lowery in 1961 too. Once our flight marched by our CO and sang cadence, “Our CO is mighty keen, he puts gin in our canteen” He didn’t think it was as funny as we did. He made us learn the words to the Air Force Song and sing it for him. Still remember those words.
@Donald Williams & @Hardhar: I think that is no typo. Humongous amphibian was correct choice of words. Have you ever seen the movie THEM! (Humongous Ants) Warner Brothers Pictures 1954.

What a dunce I turn out to be. It didn’t occur to me that the superior was thinking “amphibious” since an “amphibian” IS amphibious! THANKS EVERYBODY!
